In the Botswana Premier League, it was an off weekend for Ronnel Manyanga and his Gaborone United teammates.

In the Mozambola, Webster Muzaza and his Uniao Desportiva do Songo teammates are on preseason.

Congolese giants TP Mazembe suffered a 2-1 defeat and crashed out of the Total Energies CAF Confederations Cup at the hands of Malian side AS Bamako. Former Kabwe Warriors defender Tandi Mwape played 56 minutes of the match for Mazembe. Club/country-mates Rainford Kalaba, Kabaso Chongo and Alex Ngonga were not included in the match day squad.

Stubborn Sudanese side Al Hilal held South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 draw. Zambia’s most capped player Kennedy Mweene was not included in the Sundowns match day squad.

Kennedy Musonda scored a goal and chipped in with an assist for the Young Africans side that booked their spot in the Quarter Finals of the Total Energies CAF Confederations Cup Quarter Finals following their impressive 2-0 win over Tunisian side USM.

Over in the NBC Premiership, it was an off weekend for former ZANACO striker Rodgers Kola and his AZAM FC teammates.
